I Am A Flame

Flames burned through the night

They wouldn’t be put down without a fight.

Determination etched off each spark

Lighting up every inch of the dark.

Ambition drove the lowly flame

Until it reached what was theirs to gain.

Failure is not an option

Wet words poured out, but caused no disruption.

The flames hair grew a brighter red

Until all of the belittlers fled.

In boldness the flame burned

Only wanting to achieve more it yearned.

Persistence kept it flickering

Even when those around it kept bickering.

Bravery kept the sparks stable

Nothing dared to deem it unable.

So when it seems like all hope is gone

At least we know the flame will burn on.
