I am Extreme

I started out wanting to be normal
And to be stereo typically good
But then after failing at that
The things “I would” became “I could”

I thought I knew
But I didn’t make the team
So I looked for something new
I looked to the extreme

I shredded the streets and slopes
Road the mountain single track
Excelled beyond my hopes
Nothing could scare me back

I asked about the election
People thought it was out of my reach
But winning despite any objection
I campaigned and gave that speech

They thought I was a joke
That it was just a distant dream
But they didn’t say that anymore
When I played as a first time junior on the varsity team

In my short life
The very present theme
Something I plan to continue
Is to go for the extreme
