I am the Dark

Lying
on my back,
looking up
above, two angels
dark and light
hands extended
I know the choice I'm to make
but am unable to see
which is the dark
which is the light
both offering salvation, eternal life, in memory
I must decide the hand to take
which offers love, which offers hate?
Who brings light, who brings only dark?
looking up, seeing the faces,
meeting your eyes, I take your hand
the wings come out
his, black feathered
yours, gleaming white
eyes change
a poison green
a glowing silver
you take me in your arms
lifting me, with a leap to the sky
carrying me away, far from my evil angel
far from black wings,
which somehow still hold me
are still weighting me down
I look- wingless, he follows in flight
on my back, the lost feathers
black, befitting
he laughs, he knows I'm his
for when you notice,
you'll let me go
leaving me with this
an evil angel, my inner demon
I love you,
but realize, all the same
I am the demon you're to destroy
