I Am

I am from the smell of the Ohio River and the soft kisses of sunlight on my skin.
From the jungle gyms and slides that create the paths of my life.

I am from the sweet tastes of summer and love.
From blankets of trees and the moments I remember for him.

I am from the embrace of those who know me best and those out of reach.
From the midnight melody of war that plays on and on.

I am from noise.
From music and laughter.

I am from a thousand dreams behind a thousand doors and windows.
From a hand full of keys that open only those that I can see.

I am from thoughtless decisions and spontaneous actions.
From the first-time experiences that I live for.

I am from a shared soul and mirrored movements.
From two worlds and one heart.

I am.
