i am from

Fri, 12/09/2022 - 10:44 -- Moscamo

I am from divorced parents

I am from a large house of empty rooms

I am from a school that looked the other way when problems arose

I am from a neighborhood close to a park

I am from long summers that make teens feel more like my legal guardians

I am from trips to playgrounds

I am from the wife of my father that makes me feel worthless

I am from divorce

I am from new beginnings in a different city

I am from a close kint neighborhood

I am from good friends that care

I am from happiness with my grandparent's dog zeak

I am from hiding in my room

I am from staying up until the danger falls asleep

I am from late-night snacks that are my dinner and my first meal all-day

I am from random cop calls and him coming back

I am from meeting my dad's wife’s kids

I am from feeling safe in a stranger's house

I am from coming home and all the nights restarting
I am from the last call to the police

I am from living with my grandparents

I am from getting meds to live

I am from eating full meals

I am from becoming well

I am from overhearing arguments between my dad and his wife

I am from divorce

I am from uping my dose to live

I am from fixing everything

I am from getting well again

I am from falling aprt every nightI am from taking my meds and pretending that they are workingI am from divorced parents

Skippingstone

A deep, raw poem. You are an equisite poet: let no mortal try pulling you down: a person who builds their future is feared  and respected by Fate itself.
