I Am

Fri, 11/30/2012 - 18:22 -- sjh7272

I walk alone and don't mind.
I'd rather be there than have to deal with your false compassion.
You float in the high clouds. I walk on the cold, cracked streets.
I'm tired of trying to prove myself, I've accepted I'm no idol.
There are things better left not said,
But if I leave them unsaid I might as well be close to dead, holdin' a gun up to my head.
Runnin' on the lines of my morals just thinkin' where I went.
If I go your way, I'm forgetting all about myself.
I can't forget who I am.
I did once, and I wasn't real.
I am me, all in one.
