As I

As I get older

My eyes get wider

I can see the world

As its meant to be seen

The world is cold and dark

The new is bleak and stark

As I understand more

My hopes grow dim

Shattered and broken

by facts and men

I'm told my dreams are unrealistic

Broken up by "research" and statistics

But as I get older

And I see the flaws

And I grow bolder

Empowered by a generation

Who refuses to accept the worlds rules and its "natural" laws
