I’ma Let You Finish, but I Just Want to Say

Senior Year sucked.

Broken spirits and broken exes
Cutthroat academics and cutthroat schoolmates
Mistakenly jealous and mistakenly focused

We forgot how to care
I forgot you stood there

Before I graduate, I just want to say

Senior Year rocked.

Ivy League acceptances and enemies become friends again
Speeding through action movies and cruising through nighttime highways
Laughing during squad lunches and giggling during beach adventures

When teachers applaud you and underdogs astound you,
When caps and gowns are handed out,
When I see you in the crowd,

We remembered how we dared
I forgot all of our tears

awestruck

Everything is heartbreakingly incredible.
