A Husband's Dream

Adolescent dreams

Adolescent fears

Not a day's gone by

Where I can't see your tears

Twenty years together,

Twenty world apart

But I love you the same

That I have from the start

Drowning in my time,

Drowning in your needs

I wouldn't change a thing

Even knowing where it leads

Why did you go?

Why can't you stay?

The knot that we've tied

Has already begun to fray

The kids are together,

The kids are alright

Where can we start

If not but tonight?

I need you here,

I need it shown

I need you to love me

So I can come home.
