How do we pay for an education?
Laborious hours reading over contracts
Scraping and scrambling for a "good enough" GPA 
Praying that Financial Aid will come through - this time 
Just maybe

Maybe we could reevaulate the system
Learn the meanings behind those that don't have that fancy slip of paper
Is it worth the thousands of dollars spent to say 'I acheived debt?'
And tears, and pale faced worries, my first gray hair

"Look at this accomplishment, my certificate!" - of how I decayed
Trying to find means to an end that will allow me to have
Some sort of future
In a society where we price education so high
The student themselves, becomes worthless

It is not that we don't thirst to learn
We want to achieve, to be, to grow
Yet we shrink under the weight
Of how we pay, for the right to learn.
