A House Repaired
I am a house made of repairs.
Whose foundation was built on a mother's prayers.
And was worn down, brick by brick,
when a father built up walls too thick.
But a mother helped me paint my walls,
built me a roof, a cover for when the rain falls.
For years she was my groudwork and support,
until an illness came to court.
Now my house is filled with mirrors,
that show pain and lots of tears
Just for a moment, my foundation cracked,
But then I found the strength, that I once lacked
For now I shelter, my sweet mother bear,
And learned to cover, learned to care
For yonger sister and little brother
Both I love more than any other.
So here's my house set in stone,
greater than any king's throne
safe from all the world's affairs.
I am a house made of repairs.
