A Horses Breath

Location

Quiet your breathing, new young foal

I’m here to aide in achieving our goals

No need to breathe tirelessly

There, relax, there’s so much to see

Shhh… Listen, do you hear the sound

Little puffs of vapor in the air all around

The quiet animal standing still

In the silent winter chill

Breathing increasing through the task at hand

Here’s the third barrel, please leave it to stand

Heaving coming from under my legs

Breathless fatigue begins to beg

Breath becoming weaker

Our boldness becoming meeker

This can’t be it, this can’t be

My old friend is leaving me

With the last final breath

The winner is death

My friend is gone

Farewell friend, so long
