Everyone hopes, both you and me
what we don't understand is what we cannot see
Every day there are more and more people
without a home, being awful shameful
Being homeless, you cannot relate
unless you've experienced a day without a plate
I am not trying to get your sympathy,
but help you understand what life is for me
What you have, should not be taken for granted
because that was me and now i'm stranded
I know my life started out a mess
yet each day I hope to gain success
