He's Gone
I gaze into my brother's empty room.
He's gone. He's gone and left me here to cry.
Tonight, Despair and Grief foretell great doom,
So, at this time, I care not if I die.
To think, those joys we shared will be no more
Than memories that only we shall know.
The wrench of sorrow twists my heart and core,
But I shall smile and never let it show.
If only I could time reverse , those years
Of youthful cares and childish play,
Without responsibilities or fears,
Could be relived, and I would make you stay;
But I cannot. Alas! You've gone for good,
Best Friend, to college now just as you should.
