A Hero In Our Hearts

The call came early in the morn’

And now pain may never cease

Good memories will never fade

But pain will not release

One day before your trip back home

Your life was stripped away

A young boy waiting, after months,

Will never get to say,

 “Daddy!  I love you Daddy!”

A young wife staring, in the night

Wanting to dismiss the truth

Watching the young son play

In his ever perfect youth

Screams released, flags were flown,

In honor of you Tommy

A purple heart and more awards

Were put up just for you Tommy

Sgt. MacPherson, a brave and loyal friend

Helped every single man he could

Until the very end

Memories of your foolish fun

Seem to fill the night

And yet tears only seem to fall

In this everlasting light

Tommy, to us who knew you before

And Sgt. to those you saved

Another soul to fall in battle

But many more you saved

A friend, a son, father and husband,

This is what you were

You are a hero to America

Yes Sir Yes Sir!

Tommy Mac, Sgt. MacPherson, Tommy

An amazing man, a loyal friend, a great son & husband

Has now passed beyond this life

But while we are parted

Let us remember the strife

And let him dwell as a Hero In Our Hearts
