Her

Lonely world, sad faces pass by leaving no traces of meaning in their wake,

Cold street, rivers of emotionless machines flow on either side,

So beautiful, but so cold.

I am as much a part of the gray as the gray is a part of me

Waters deep, impenetrable by skittish onlookers

The world is gray, the dark clouds watch me.

Where is the sun?

Where is the loving light?

Could warmth ever permeate this dead world?

Will the darkness ever be illuminated?

As I lie in wait for an angel to appear,

So came you, the angel of my destiny,

Suddenly, trees turn green

The sky glows gently with tones of blue and white,

The cold faces passing by break through their stony gray shells,

The world is alive and so am I

Your face glistens as the crowd fades to the backdrop,

Sweat dripping from my wrinkled brow,

Could you be real?

Am I being tempted by a dream?

If so, wake me up now, for I’m about to take a risk,

Wake me up now because my life is about to end,

Skittishness disappears in a rush of ecstasy,

Approaching, I only have one desire,

Aching pressure to speak, palms melting in my pockets,

Hello!

Trumpets of heavenly tones resonate through aching ears,

The monotonous voice of my conscience is silenced by the harmonic tunes of foreign music.

Conversation, like an art long forgotten, returns to sooth my pain

Love at first sight may be a fallacy,

But I would die to make your love a reality.
