Hello World

You build me up

To bring me down

What a wonderful world

I have found

Smart, strong, brave they all say

As death welcomes me to dance in my grave

He reaches for me with arms opened wide

Telling me to settle for what the world will decide

I never thought this day would come.

We are taught as children to change the world

Yet when we try to change the world we are shoved to the floor

We meet death the day we are born

He tells us how important we are, how we are going to make the world a better place

How smart we are

How strong we are

How brave we are for fighting for a change

He gives us the tools when we are old enough and says use them.

Then scoffs when we makes chips, not dents

The tools are taken away

Dance with me he says

You’re getting nowhere with those, why even try?

Accept defeat and move on

Young, naive, foolish little girl

Little did he know

The chips were two inches away

From getting us out of our graves
