Heartbreak

For a while it will be like walking on broken glass.

Barefoot.

There will be pain,

And it will stick.

But eventually you will heal.

For a while every little reminder will spring up.

Suddenly.

You will try to go about your day,

And you will cry in public.

But it will not humiliate you.

For a while the world will seem empty.

Barren.

There will be a hole continuously by your side,

And you will ache to fill it with him or anyone.

But it will not help you.

Your heart will ache.

You will cry until you feel as if your bones should break.

You will wallow in the sea of your own misery and pity.

And you will feel saddness more than ever before,

And you will be okay.

You need the pain and the sorrow.

They make the happiness sweeter.

So don't you dare give up.

Don't you dare give in.

You will be okay.
