HATRED

They say when I get in

the gods toast a coin

the well hold its breath

and the wall open its ears.

Blanket shrugged in the corner

while the carpet curls up.

When I pace up

the distant between me

and the world keep widening

less did I know

I was opening another grave

to usher in hatred

for people like me.

They never took us for human

but less do they know

people like us have bed for the night

and mama said its okay.

for we never point a nasty finger

though no friends to visit.

The weight of loneliness

is what I feel on my shoulders

every time I woke up

the long walk to freedom

is already burning our heels

that we have to shock them in basins

behind our closed door.

We smile yes!!!!

but only to ease our pain

our mindsets hinged behind darkened walls

and hatred caped in

but they turned it against us

and trashes the left overs

with sweat and blood we struggle

to provide to their tables

If the world was for take

then I will take my labour

and live behind my wages

for thats all you care for

how I wish we traded our shoes

and taste the differences in our worlds

maybe we can understand each other better

but that will take time

now that you know my story

I wish that I know yours.
