Hate Begets Hate

Hate begets hate,

But truth is all that it takes,

It all depends on what you stand for and the choices you make,

And one woman’s story proves you can always escape,

She listened as Leather boots stomped on bloody cobblestone streets,

And saw Terrified Jews with bodies that were so sickly and weak that they reeked,

It was a fatal game of hide and seek with Gestapo police armed to the teeth,

Because in November of 38’ the Fuhrer’s army came in the night like a thief,

Hitler’s actions were right is what she had to believe,

Or shed be whipped and shipped by MP40 triggers to put her on a permanent leave,

And she remembers the screams,

as the Nazis schemed to have their once proud nation redeemed,

People were taken from their homes and branded and stamped,

As Germany began to expand its land and its piece of the map,

It all started when Hitler made his move and Poland was attacked,

And Nazi SS officers sent Jews to concentration camps were they were given gas in their lungs and k98 slugs to the back,

Adolf promised to save the nation but what was the cost?

What good is a Third Reich if 60 million people are lost?

Would you stand on a throne where your enemy’s bones and bodies were tossed?

And look up in the sky and see the trail of blitzkrieg’s warplanes exhaust,

As Germany’s enemies were cleansed by a shower of V2 rockets and bombs,

And wives screamed for their husbands and children screamed for their moms,

When the tides of war changed she began to wonder if the Russians would rape her to death,

So she went from wanting to be a be a young girl to firing Panzershreks,

she became a strong German and poked out her chest,

Strapped on her Hitler youth vest, with no regrets,

Ready to respond and drop bombs at the Fuhrers request,

Hate begets hate,

But truth is all that it takes,

And she saw all the snakes,

And took control of her fate

The fascists believed that difference was equivalent to pollution,

So they went from persecution to shooting to the solution of genocide and mass executions,

Everyone was drafted to the army teenagers 16 and over included,

And they felt no shame and pain because they was trained by propaganda and corrupt institutions,

But it wasn’t her fault; the girl was taught that hate was the truth,

She was indoctrinated in the group known as Hitler’s youth,

As a recruit that was taught to shoot if her country gave her excuse,

She was a Nazi by day and human by night,

But to her it was alright because she was indoctrinated to fight,

She was programmed to be a tough German,

To exterminate vermin,

and though her parents disapproved she was determined,

her first priority was going to war and her last was returning,

as time passed and she witnessed innocent people being fed to the dogs,

she began to question whether the so called enemies were even bad at all

when the war ended she escaped the warmongers brainwash,

And began to move forward with all of her chains off,

She moved to America and started anew,

And she still faced hatred but she had the weapon of truth,

As a matter of fact her husband was black,

and she stands despite the racist attacks,

she is harassed and her house marked with a swastika,

but she stands because of the dark past she rememebers,

Hate begets hate

But truth is all that it takes,

And though they will still discriminate,

Remember her example and you can change your fate.
