Guiding light

O distant star, shining bright,
Visible in the east, at twilight,
This guide of my travels, a lodestone of my life,
Content I am, knowing you are always there,

Even if out of sight.

The dark sky brings out your shine,
Like a twinkling firefly you illumine.
Flashing silently up there, forever,

Overhead,

In the firmament of the divine.

Little star, my guiding light,
Where art thou tonight?
Anxious, I wait for the clouds to  clear,
So that I may see you once again, in plain sight.
