Growing Up (Way, Way Up)

Wed, 04/03/2019 - 12:25 -- NoWords

One moment

That was all it took

For the realization to settle

That I would never be a child

anymore

It happened in the bathroom

In front of the mirror

When I couldn't see myself

anymore

(Invisible

From the neck up)

I looked in the glass,

saw a chin and a collar

and a backpack on my shoulder

And that was the moment

I knew I'd grown older

The day I hit 6 feet

was the day I grew up

literally...

From little girl to

OUCH omg,

was there always a door there?

And

Omg Is this skirt supposed

to hit right here?

And

Omg since when are feet

Actually a foot long

And

No, for the millionth time

I don't play basketball

And

The weather is fine,

The view? Spectacular

Thanks so much for asking.

I grew up

By growing up
