The stress of the day
Let it go
Those things you want to say
Say no
The anger and aggression
Will slow
The smile and happiness
Let them grow

Nothing is better
Than a perfect day
But when it’s not that day
Don’t just throw it away
Stand up and say
“Hey!
I’m going to find a way
To make color from this gray,
To step out of this haze,
To make it all okay.”

You’ve got to fight
(Not physically, but mentally)
Take insight
Make the day bright
Look on the side with light
Say today “I’ll take flight!
I’ll be like a kite,
I’ll battle the stress with all my might,”
And tell yourself and the world
“Everything will be alright!”

We often close our eyes to see
The person we want to be
The future of our dreams
The epitome of our glee
And we wake up, it’s gone
We’re no longer free
Feeling limited to “Just me”
But you have to stand up and say
“I am ME! I am free! And I can be
What I want to be!
And I want to be happy!”
That is the golden key
To be happy
To experience the splendid way
To live and love
To wake with a smile every day
And eventually, peacefully rest the same exact way.
