There once was a girl who owned a gate. She took pride in her gate, she painted it put a latch lock on the gate and stood guard making sure only her friends, family and those who cared about her entered into the gate. This gate was special to her and everyone who met her knew it. This gate was important for inside the gate was her home. Her house had no door, for whoever entered the gate
was automatically invited into her home to enjoy her and all her treasures she placed in her home. All her innermost things were inside her house and she was certain the gate was enough to keep out intruders.

However one fateful day came a guy named distraction. He walked up to her gate and realized there was a gate a latch and a house with no door. Thinking this was a strange sight and that the girl would be gullible decided he would talk to her and convince her to leave the gate. After all he wanted to see what was in the house and maybe take some things for himself. He didn’t care about her he just wanted what was inside and make himself happy.

With this intent in mind, he said to her why are you standing here and guarding this gate when you could be having fun. I mean you're really wasting your time guarding this gate. There's a whole world out here that you're missing. You could go to parties and meet lots of people and even walk around seeing all the beauty there is in this world. Besides even if you do leave the gate, no one knows where the latch is, and they wont even know how to open the gate and get in your house. Everything will be fine, come with me.

Listening to distraction., she decided to leave the gate unattended and unguarded for anyone to open come in and rob her house of its treasures within. She spent an ample amount of time in the world finding out all that it had to offer, but soon found herself empty. For everyone who passed by her gate, simply opened it and took out something for themselves. They didn’t have to ask or be invited in, after all no one was there to guard the gate. These people thought foolish person for leaving their house open like this.. but great for me I can take as I please.

She found herself void, for every time someone took something out of her house a piece of her treasure was gone. She felt helpless, hopeless and alone. For her strength was soon draining. Cruel selfish people had eventually torn her gate down and it was a free-for-all.

She soon came back to her house finding that it had been raided and her gate destroyed. She knelt down in the pile of wood that used to be her beautiful gate. There in front of her house that used to be full of beautiful treasures, she began to cry from the depths of her soul. “Oh, what have I done? Why did I ever listen to distraction and leave the gate in the first place?” She had everything going for her, and yet thought that she had nothing..

Then a kind faced man came up to her put his hand on her shoulder and said why are you crying? She told him .. he replied, it wasn’t wise of you to leave your treasures unattended and your gate unguarded. But I am here to help you put the pieces back together again. And if you let me I would like to live in your house and make sure it is well taken care of. All that I need is room and board to take care of your house. Perhaps I can even help you get your treasures back.

She found it hard to believe someone could be so kind as to offer up their livelihood to help her a mere stranger. But deep within her heart she believed him, he has trusting eyes and a soothing voice.

He helped her repair the gate better than before and her treasures are even larger and more beautiful than the first.

To this day, she still guards her gate to her house with no door. For she knows inside there is something and someone worth while.
