A Formal Address

Sat, 05/11/2019 - 20:47 -- marysat

It begins with:

3 sisters with familial love built from brick,

6 hands encumbered with budding sunflowers,

6 feet that were miles from homesick, and

0 thoughts of coming down from their towers.

How do you address strength to a child

who’s address changes continually?

As her parent’s marriage has been unfiled.

Yes, how do we address this perspicuously?

Because there is:

2 birds singing with no song,

5 reasons to toss and turn her pillow,

2 years which has never felt so long, and

It’s like walking a highway of pale yellow.

But her strength is the reflection

and a heart that grows tenfold.

It’s the act of subjection

over her own glowing gold.

And with this hardship she blooms:

5 coats of tough skin

8 octaves of cognizance, and

5 stars worth of everything akin.

And that’s how she earns confidence.

So, how do you address strength to a child

who’s address changes repeatedly?

The answer is not that wild

when she grows from the pain exceedingly.
