Forever in ME:Day

Good morning,

When I wake up,

open my eyes.

As clear as day,

morning,

In my mind,

I think god for another day.

I feel slightly awake,

I walk into the closed door,

open the bathroom door,

Hit the light switch on.

Look in the mirror,

at myself.

Twist the sink knob,

splash some water on my face,

to keep awake.

Get dress,

excited to put together my outfit.

Brush my teeth.

Take down my Bantu knots,

fluff it up,

wear it as a pro.

Dab some edge control,

to hold my hair in place,

my daily routine.

Don't forget my accessories.

Walk into my room,

deciding on what shoes.

Take a second look at myself,

no three times I checked.

Grab my bag,

and purse.

And there,

I'm, out the door.

Patiently,

waiting,

at the bus stop,

like come on,

hurry up,

I'm ready to go.

As soon as the bus,

pulls up in front.

I watch my step.

Tap my card,

find a seat,

and wait,

until I reach the train station.

I wait for the train,

start over again looking,

for a seat on the train.

Wait until five points,

transfer,

northbound.

I wait patiently,

for my final destination.

I'm finally here,

carefully walking,

step by step.

Tap my card,

up the escalator.

Walking,

walking,

more steps.

Walking across,

waiting for the

walk signal.

More walking,

open the door,

press the elevator,

button,

walk into my classroom.

There my instructor,

classmates greet me.

All smiles,

hugs.

It's like a reunion.

Forever in a,

day.
