Flying...

She had a rough day at school. She comes home past her families' questioning glare, she bolts up the stairs and into her room. Her family doesn't dare follow her because they know what she is about to do but they know they cannot stop her. No matter how hard they try. She opens her top drawer and gets out her bottle of pills. Crush,

                Crush,

                    Snort.

Pretty soon she is flying to another world where her boyfriend didn't just break up with her. Where her dad didn't sexually abuse her. Where she thinks her family actually gives a darn about what she is doing to herself. Where her friends didn't leave her just because she is a little broken.

No. She needs to stop thinking. She stays in the world of rainbows, and happiness, and unicorns and just smiles at the pretty thing going on around her. She is liking how she is feeling so she stumbles back over to the top drawer of her dresser and grabs a few more. She wants to see how far from reality she gets. Crush,

            Crush,

                    Snort.

She soars even higher.. she is so high in the other world she is walking on the clouds. She decides she doesn't just like it up there, she loves it. She stumbles over to the top drawer of the dresser, and decides that she wants just one more..just to make this high last a little longer.

Too tired. Too high. She just doesn't care anymore.

She falls back on the clouds. Her physical body has lost all consiousness and it thumps to the floor. She is to busy floating in the clouds to hear her family come running up the stairs, to busy floating on the clouds to hear her family screaming her name, to busy floating on the clouds to hear the ambulance come and put her on the gernee. All of a sudden, she's gone into another world all together. Except, she doesn't feel the buzz of the high anymore. She feels something else. Love. Warmth. Exceptance. Comfort. Happiness. She is in heaven. Flying high as a bird but it's better than any high she could get off any drug.

Rest in peace to those who died of drug overdose.
