Freedom, around the corner,
On the tips of my fingers,
It's so close I can taste it.
I'm ready to fly.

I stand as a new person,
Not being judged by my skin,
But by what I can do,
By the good I can bring to the world.

Malcolm X, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,
Rosa Parks, and Harriet Tubman
Led the way to dreamland,
To an equal America.

I look across the room today.
There is a special color with every smile.
Freedom has been won.
I am flying.
