The Flood - Spoken Word Piece

Voice A (Softly)

My car broke the dam

And the rain just kept coming down

Adding to the flood

Coming down

Voice B (Calm but louder than A)

A surge runs through the crowd

Knocking everyone to the floor

And I stand alone

Craving something more

Voice A

My car broke the dam

And the rain just kept coming down

Adding to the flood

Coming down

Voice B (slightly louder and more hysterical than before)

The more things change

The more I stay the same

The louder I shout

The more I am to blame

Voice A

My car broke the dam

And the rain just kept coming down

Adding to the flood

Coming down

Voice B (louder and more exacerbated)

The eternal flame

I cast aside

In favor of a light

That has a dark side

Voice A

My car broke the dam

And the rain just kept coming down

Adding to the flood

Coming down

Voice B (Loud and increasing to a shout, very panicked)

Trapped on a sea

Of endless possibilities

And the only thing I ask for

Is some solidarity

I am drowning!!!

Voice A

My car broke the dam

Voice B

I am drowning!

Voice A

And the rain just kept coming down

Voice B (soft plea)

I am downing.

Voice A

Adding to the flood

Coming down
