Filtered Out

Filters.

Change your

Look, change your

Style. See everything through a

Pretty Veil.

Filters.

Watch what you say,

Watch what you do.

Filter it all to fit

The Room,

The Group,

The Society

That says (because) you need

Filters.

No Filters.

Free to Speak,

Free to Think,

Free to be Filter(ed)

Free.

Love what you

Love who you

Love You

With no Filters.

No Makeup, No Walls,

No Curtains, No Filters.

Not as Strong (but what is Strength

Without Weakness),

Not as Beautiful (but what does Beauty matter

Except on the inside, where it’s always

Filter Free),

Not as Well-spoken (but all the Purer for it),

Not as Popular (but the friends that remain

Are True),

Not as Unbroken (but Scars make us

Who we are),

And not as Filtered—

But who cares for filters when you could

Just

Be

You?

But these thoughts aren’t acceptable,

These words not okay,

Because they speak of a truth that

Reveals lies it hides behind,

So it must be

Filtered

Out.

No Filters

Are not allowed in this

Filtered

Life.
