Fighting: Volume I

All started out,

So promising,

A polite young boy,

So promising.

Curly haired,

A little naive too,

Got the crap kicked out of me,

Older boys hated you.

Wanted to fight,

So keenly,

Wanted to do my best,

Physically.

Distractions at home,

Unfortunately,

Distractions at home,

Continually.

Then loss prevailed,

In the family,

The loss curtailed,

My ambition to fight thee.

Zoned out,

Watching TV,

Clueless,

Forgetting who I'm meant to be.

Curly haired,

Skinny too,

Curly haired,

Everyone ripping into you.

Had enough,

Of being ridiculed,

Had enough,

Of being viewed as not so tough.

Boxing,

Became my sancutary,

Boxing,

Made me like a solid tree.

Getting older now,

Out drinking,

Partying,

Dancing too.

Getting older now,

Time to stick up,

For one self,

And your motely crew.

In a bar for friends birthday,

In a bar, drinks a plenty,

In the bar, arguments abound,

In the bar, doorman stands his ground.

Come on then,

You big meat head,

Come on then,

What was that you said?

Smash and pound,

Throwing kicks too,

A few bottles thrown,

For good measure from you.

Punch and tussle,

This doorman is solid muscle,

Whack him with my left,

Hook him with my right.

He goes down,

See,

Told you,

He couldn't fight.

Smash the place up,

Unnecessarily,

Smash the place up,

We've gone crazy.

Shout and cheer,

Walking through town,

Shout and cheer,

What a bunch of clowns.

Police turn up,

Arrested suddenly,

Police turn up,

Not so happy now, see.

Bravado and beer,

Many a cheer,

Behind the cell door,

Charges are being formed.

In court for you,

And your motely crew,

In court for you,

Take the fine and community service too.

All for a night out,

On the pavement,

All for a night out,

Total Mayhem.

All so young,

Lessons learnt, hopefully,

All so young,

Let's go out again, stupidly.
