Fighting for beauty
We cry every day and every night
yearnig for someonet to say we are beautiful
wanting to know how it feels like to be loved and cared about
enough of having to cry bcause of how we look and who we are
it feels like being locked in a cage where darkness wants to take over our suls
it's like being in a place drowning by our own tear
it's like living in a storm day and night
we walk alone with a sword
becuse everyay is a battle
we get the looks
we get the laughs and giggles
when will the finally understand that we herd it
we have heard enough
we get it that you don't like us
we get it that we don't belong
can't you just realize that our souls are wanderin
our tears have dropped
just because we cover from top to bottom
it don't mean we are ugly
just because we don't show you skin
doesn't mean we are lacking
Nahn Jamila ( we are beautiful)
What is hidden inside these long dress is beauty
our beauty is not shared
Go ahead talk and laugh
but we have shame and pride
As Boona Muhammed once said
Beauy is an extension of modesty
The reason to why we can't show our thick long black hair
The reason to why can't show our smooth legs
the reason to why we can't show our pure chest
is the reason why our beauty is hidden from your world
If you are looking for beauty through us ladies
then look through our eyes
and not through our bodies
because then if you are human
you will understand
We are to be respected Our body's a emple
where no filthy hands can touch
where no wandering eyes can lust
Don't come to us because you are thirsty
if you have lost your drection
or seem to turn blind
then this is a place where you don't belong.
