Father the Destroyer

You left and never came back, Leaving behind broken promises, broken dreams and broken hearts, Destroyed all the trust, Therefore Creating fear of abandonment, fear of getting too close to anyone, Wounds that will never heal, In the end showing me what it takes to be a Father, Because being a Father is more than fertilization of an egg, And although You left, I gained a Father in my grandpas and my uncles, men worthy of the true meaning of the word Father.
