Falling

I don’t have to say it but you know

We fell in love beneath this tree

You held me and you didn’t let go

I could see the light in your eyes see them glow

I was happiest when it was just you and me

I didn’t have to say it but you know

I wasn’t okay didn’t want it to show

We went back to the place where you and I became we

You held me and you didn’t let go

I trembled on the highest branch as the wind began to blow

I couldn’t bear to speak couldn’t breathe

I didn’t have to say it but you know

I fell like an autumn leaf fell so low

I dragged you down and you landed next to me

You held me and you didn’t let go

We peered over the edge at the bare trees below

I took your hand we took the step we just want to be free

I didn’t have to say it but you know

You held me and you won’t ever let go.
