Fall is for Me

Now that summer washed away,

and school is in full swing,

I realized there's no time to play,

or warmth until this spring.

I must look beyond the gray,

and look for all that's good,

in the crisp grass I lay,

I'd stay all day if I could.

The fall is my favorite time of year,

the earth's beauty truly shines,

the people are full of happiness and cheer,

and the shriveling trees form their lines.

Between the colors, orange and brown,

the world looks like a painting.

The long-lived leaves fall to the ground,

the trees throw down the leaves remaining.

School may have started,

and summer may be out of sight,

but this fall has been unchartered,

and I'm ready to let it take flight.
