fading

what if i told you i was fading -
crumbling
fraying
breaking
shivering
heaving
seizing

would you be at all surprised?

would these drops of
solicited desperation
seek solace
successfully
within your indifferent
and unfamiliar eyes?

or would you continue to spit fire
and ignore my shaking cries
leaving my veins
twisted and charred
like mutilated tree vines?

i remember the purity
the sincerity the serenity
that would envelop me whole
whenever i marveled
over the illumination of your soul

encasing me in fabric
made from fabrications
weaved with personal ignorance
and refusal of revelations

but it's a whisper in your ears
because you're never really listening
well hi, hello, are you there?
i need you now because i'm
f a d i n g
