An Exchange Student's View on Six O'clock Mornings

  I wear the hours

of each day under

     both eyes.

A body's natural way of

   saying

       it is hard,

but I am trying.

And I will wear them without shame,

or embarrassment.

A student's way of saying

It will be worth it, in everyway.

Exhaustion, confusion, and headaches: having a new life

 for almost next to nothing..

Any conversation now, is a lesson in language

that is strange to the taste.

Each morning I wake up ready.

I want to devour everything the day dares sends my way.

Tired or not,

I have an excitement for the world

that makes saying

   guten Morgen,

easier.

Six o'clock

and

class

begins.
