EVERYTHING is awesome
To bring some awe to your your life, look at the mundane in a new light
A perfect example I see is the job where they NEED me
It's not an easy thing to deal with the dumb
In customer service, where they all seem to run
No, I don't mind, and for one reason alone
Most bring their friends, the ones with no phones
The friends I speak of cannot smile or laugh
Though they bring me the warmth that will last and last
I can coo and ahh and ooh and dawwe
Nobody minds, at least, nobody yet
These friends, my friends, are your pets
They wriggle and waggle, woof and purr
The thing that brightens my mood is when I first see the furr...
No matter the size, shape, or type
I am filled to the brim with the same heady hype
Studies show that they relax the mood
Loosen the stress
Eat lots of food
But the thing to me that they bring most
Is a combination of different hosts
You see, friends, not all thier owners are dull
They bring in the sweet old couples
The shining new babies
Heck, sometimes they have a hand
Attached to their leash or handle of their (carrier) bag
The hand is unrecognizable as I fawn over the newest furry
Until I look and stand up in a hurry
To friends, to family, to regulars known by name
And that is the reward to which I lay claim.
