Every Man

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Pay no attention to the fact that he is hurting.

Try to Novacane the pain he doesn't want to feel.

Turn a blind eye to the things he can't conceal.

He hides himself in a masquerade.

Plays a charade because he is too afraid.

His name is a lie called a label.

In need of a Guardian Angel.

He wears a Halo around his head but deserves thorns.

He wears a halo around his head but feels like a crown of thorns.

Of nothing, he is the king.

He can feel the fires of despair creeping upon him.

An illusion of virtue is what he favors.

to show his neighbors

but has tasted the many flavors

of the forbidden fruit.

Inside him lays the seed

of his dark deeds.

Condemned like Adam and Eve.

Ravaged by Greed.

Cannot concieve,

the idea of wearing his sins upon his sleeve.

A tatoo of pain written in invisible ink.

He sinks...

into darkness...

emptiness.

There is a hole in his soul.

If you could picture this.

But the man behind the curtain paints a perfect picture.
