why do I write?
well, why do birds fly?
why do fish swim?
not just because it's an essential method of transportation.
because its an escape
an escape from the deadly locks of their predators
an escape from life and everything behind you
an escape from painful memories and endless sadness
it's an escape from the past and an open door to the future
writing poetry is a hand ripping out the darkness in your soul
it's the air that pushes clouds to prevent a rainy day
poetry is words released in an eerie silence
things that your heart can write but your mouth refuses to say
but most importantly poetry is like flying
it's a beautiful escape.
that is why I write
