A sneaky fox,
A thief in the night
That’s what he was
Tall and thin,

Like a pine tree
He had a terrifying
Surprise for me.
My memory is vivid,

In my dreams, sometimes I relive it.
Alone in a secluded space
Surrounded by crime;
For the perpetrator it was dinner time.

He placed his order, handed me the cash,
I looked up and in an instance my life flashed.
I found myself staring,

Down a dark black hole,
Tunnel vision perspective,
Facing his decision,
To activate the trigger with precision.

Photographic memories flash
Before my eyes, even the lies,
I told, and the hands I’d never get to hold,
But I refused to let this be the end for me,
I had to be wise.

Cash is what he wanted, so cash, I gave him.
I obeyed his demand and did everything he said.
He didn’t get away with much, got caught
And was charged with armed robbery.
Karma is a bitch, and she allowed me
To be here today to tell you my story.
