Empty Reflection
Turn around and see
The mirror on the wall.
Face it with all your strength
And stare into the eyes
As they glare back.
The emptiness you normally see
Has vanished.
They burn holes into your mind
With the hatred you’ve placed in them.
They reflect the putrid image
You’ve permanently engraved
Into the glass of your mind.
Why?
Why do you continue
To allow this hatred to engulf you?
It’s tearing you apart
But you don’t even notice,
It’s all you’ve ever known.
