E Pluribus Unum

Someone start the countdown to the breakdown of my people,

Because everyone keeps shutting us out as they repeat, “All men are created equal.”

How are we to save our children when we can't even save ourselves,

And we’re just one out of a million so put all of your dreams up on the shelves,

Because everyone is too busy worrying about themselves.

Who are we and what have we come to trying to survive in the cities that are keeping revenue, making a living, while the ones who were born on this soil don't worry about how to continue, and where do we go when you kick us out?

Our old homes are as foreign to us as they are to you now.

Oh help us, help us, won't you please? Help the immigrants struggling on the streets,

Let us receive the same grace that has been given to thee,

There is no freedom until we're equal and we are given relief!

Now when was it decided that we would be silenced,

When my baby's on the floor crying for justice?

She’s saying, “Mama this isn't how it’s supposed to be this was supposed to be the home of the brave and the land of opportunity.”
