Dying Inside

My heart wants to speak.

My eyes want to smile.

My mouth remains shut

But there’s a bad feeling in my gut.

I miss you mom.

But this is so dumb.

Why did you change?

Is it because of age?

You use to be happy with dad

And I know he is mad.

Can’t you see he is dying inside?

Why did you have to leave his side?

I miss seeing both of you happy.

The way it used to be.

Can’t you see?

                                                                    We are all dying inside.
