Dry Sobs

Dry sobs are the worst.

The tears you feel coming

But never let escape.

The repairs for a sick heart

Poisoned by your own stubborn ways.

When you know how much it hurts

To be forgotten, unwanted, disgraced.

When your attempt to stay strong

Only leads to muzzled pain.

Especially when they

Start from accidental afflictions.

They're a curse

For the lonely specimen.

If someone catches you

They won't know to wipe away your tears.

Because they reveal

Your true fears.

When you try to be tough

But end up more desperate.

Wanting to stand out

But knowing you can't stand it.

Dry sobs are the worst.
