Droplets

Location

The clouds are billowing overhead

and the droplets obscure the pane.

I watch them fall and run together

as I’m driving home again.

At first they all resist each other,

then attract and cling on tight,

and roll down the slanted glass as one

until finally out of sight.

Like Vladimir and Estragon,

instead of holding their own,

they band together to ease the fear

of facing the unknown.
