The profession you choose will change your life

But making a decision can cause a great deal of strife

 

A licensed clinical social worker, is what I want to be

Unfortunately, my education won’t come close to free

 

There is a long road of schooling to get to my goal

Helping individuals and families will be my role

 

You can’t just have a bachelor’s degree

I have to get my masters if that’s what I want to be

 

Graduate school consists of classes and fieldwork

Gaining plenty of experience is a perk

 

Becoming licensed requires 3200 hours and passing an important test

Columbia University’s MSW program will help prepare me best

 

As a LCSW you can work in a hospital, agency or private practice setting

Individualized attention and help is what my patients will be getting

 

My main focus is to improve their mental and physical health

Which is greatly impacted by social issues such as their level of wealth

 

Although the road to success is expensive and long

Choosing any other career for me would be wrong

 

When people ask what my dream job would be

A licensed clinical social worker is what I see
