Don't Change

Location

At the end of each year we’d get our yearbooks

Barely paid attention to class when we got them

After it was full I read mine  and I noticed that I got one signature over and over

“Don’t change”

Call me crazy but that’s kinda fucked up!

I didn’t think much of it the first time

But I got this image of them all swimming together like they were flushing down a toilet

Trying to process all the thoughts in my head as the “don’t change”’s were being flushed into my brain

I thought

Isn’t that the point of life?

We strive to be the best

Why should anyone let society dictate how they act, what they wear and ultimately who they are?

I like how I am but I would definitely not stay like this forever

I like to learn from experiences

I like to question everything

Everyone grows

You gotta figure out what makes you

Each day you’re one step closer to that

The other day I figured out I like sandwiches with the tomato right on top of the mayo

and no lettuce, onions or pickles

I felt pretty happy

Now I know something about myself that I didn’t before

It makes me unique

So change, grow

You won’t regret it

I promise
