Do You Even Bother?

Pay no attention to that girl behind the curtain,

Just look upon the bells and whistles I have placed upfront.

But why inquire to see the girl behind the curtain,

When you yourself are enacting the same stunt.

Do you even appreciate the renovations I've done?

Do you even notice the new paint upon my mask?

Or are you placing a mirror in front of you instead,

Focused on filling your personal flask.

If this is all true then it would seem to me,

That it doesn't matter whether my paint is red or green.

Determined to conceal the girl behind the curtain,

Hidden from ourselves our identity becomes uncertain.
