Discard

Yes
Maybe I was mistaken
So does this mean
I should discard
My bank of thoughts that you were locked away in?
Should I discard
The smiles you put on this hopeless face?
Should I discard
The piece of art
That I had put weeks worth of work into,
Just so you'd have a keepsake with meaning in your life?
Should I discard your little doodles of drawings that you gave to me and I foolishly kept?
Shall I discard the memories?
Should I discard you?
I'm sorry but even if I tried with merely all of my might,
I cannot.
I cannot simply discard someone who has
Imprinted on my heart
And pierced my every being with voluminous change.
So I'm sorry.
I'm sorry if I was mistaken.
But I simply cannot discard,
Everything.

Even if I did indeed discard every trace of you,
I could never in a million years discard the love.
You are carved in my heart.
And you are here to stay.
Whether you like it or not.
